One Hungarian and three Spanish schools participated in the project.
From Hungary: Vasvári Pál Primary School and Sports School in Dunaújváros
From Spain: CEIP Rioturbio, CEIP Reconquista, CRA Ría del Eo
With the help of teachers from the participating schools, we created an opportunity to share experiences and good practices, comparing the educational systems and methodological practices of the two countries. As a result of the meetings, the participating teachers' professional horizons were broadened and their European identity strengthened. They gained insights into the life and circumstances of each other's schools, which put their own practice into a wider context. The joint workshops gave them first-hand experience of how educational robotics can help overcome language barriers.
The two Joint Teacher Training sessions held at the beginning and end of the project were the main platform for sharing experience and knowledge.
The first one took place in Spain in 2024. in March.
After the presentation of the partner organisations and schools, we played "icebreaker" games, which provided teachers with first-hand experience of how screen-free coding, educational robotics can help build interpersonal connections and integration into the group. The games also showed how coding, playing with educational robots, can help break down barriers caused by language differences.
We visited two sites of the CRA Ría del Eo school. On site, we learned about the situation and methodology of small rural schools. And a visit to a school in the provincial capital of Oviedo gave an insight into life in the city's large schools. Robotics sessions were used to observe the local methodology of robotics sessions integrated into the curriculum as well as the practice of talent management outside school.
This meeting also provided an opportunity to get to know and compare the Hungarian and Spanish education systems and curricula. It was an interesting experience to discover that the curricula of the two countries have different age ranges or emphasis for certain subjects. By consensus, we identified the topics on which we could start curriculum development.
For the second time in 2025. took place in Hungary in February, close to the end of the project.
Visiting the Vasvári Pál Primary School, the project partners were able to observe the methodological innovation that the school has undergone by using the teaching materials developed in the framework of the project. The children were friendly and welcoming and were happy to show us how to use the robots - language differences were no barrier.
We attended classes in the lower and upper grades, and visited the school's affiliated school in Kisapostag - so the Spanish teachers could observe the Hungarian model of a large school and a small village school.
In addition to summarising the lessons learned from the project, it was also a great opportunity to exchange good practices at the school's carnival programme.
